Oh Anastasia, you did it again.
If you’re a makeup junkee like me, you’ve probably heard about the buzz that’s going on in the beauty world. Anastasia Beverly Hills and beauty youtuber, Nicole Guerriero came out with a collaboration highlighter palette. The palette first launched on the Sephora App and it was sold out instantly. I was able to get my hands on this baby thanks to my best friend who bought this for me for my birthday. Literally, I was beyond excited to finally see what the hype was about.
The palette is in a cutesy shade of pink with tiny gold and pink specks of sparkles. Although it’s made out of cardboard, it won’t rip easily. It has a magnetic closure which I appreciate—easy for travel. The highlighter pans comes with a generous size of product. It can probably last you a year, with the size of these pans! It comes with no mirror, but that’s okay with me since I like to do my makeup in front of a vanity mirror. Overall, I think the packaging is adorable, travel-friendly, and definitely instagram worthy.
There are 6 highlighters, 0.16 oz/ 4.5 g each (in total, 0.96 oz/ 27 g) for a total of $40 for this limited edition kit. Basically you pay, $6.67 for each of the 6 highlighters. What a steal.
Some reviewers say that the highlighters are “too extra”. The only highlighter that I felt was a little too much for me was “Forever Lit”. This shade lives by it’s name. For me, I can never wear this shade alone but when I mix Forever Lit with the other shades, it is definitely wearable. Although all the shades are shimmery, it easily bendable and looks subtle on the cheekbones.
The palette comes with 6 metallic highlighter shades. 2 pinky shades, 3 natural/bronze shades, and 1 platinum white shade.
Pink with a platinum shimmer. I was wondering if this shade could be used as a blush, but it’s too shimmery to wear alone as a blush. However, this shade blends easily when used as a highlighter and wasn’t as harsh as I thought it would be.
Pink pearl with silver shimmer. My favorite shade out of this glow kit! Forever Young is a very subtle and easily wearable. It definitely can definitely compliment any eye look.
Coral with white gold shimmer. I was kind of iffy of about this shade because I thought it looks more like a blush shade rather than a highlighter. I would describe this shade as a mixture of rose gold and coral. This highlighter didn’t do much when applied on top of my blush. I didn’t see much pigmentation from it. However, it can be used as a blush topper—-meaning it adds a little shimmer on top of your blush.
Platinum with lavender shimmer. This is my most least favorite shade out of the bunch and I most likely won’t hit pan on this one. Forever Lit definitely lives by it’s given name. I think this shade isn’t wearable alone, but if mixed with the other shades then I’m good to go. Forever Lit is a very bright shade of white and overall it looks the least unnatural to me. But hey, if you wanna go extra, then this shade is perfect for you.
Champagne with rose shimmer. This shade looks similar to 143 but overall, it’s very wearable and gives you that bronzy look.
Rose gold with bronze shimmer. I’m a sucker for anything that’s rose gold so I think this shade would look good on anyone.
My Overall Impression:
I think the Anastasia Beverly Hills and Nicole Guerriero collaboration was amazing. They came out with a beautiful palette that’s worth your money: a generous amount of product for each pan, 6 different shades, and high quality product. All the shades glides on smoothly, blendable, and added a little shimmer that wasn’t over the top. I would recommend all you beauties to give this palette a try!
